Going to the Dogs
Greenery and secluded streets make the neighborhood an urban pet's
paradise. Not-so-subtle signs dot the area, keeping the many dog
lovers in check and perhaps cooling the steam of a disgruntled minority.
In a recent NY Times article, A Bill to Ease Restrictions
on Living with Pets, animal-welfare advocate Mary Max noted:
"there was one area of town, around Tudor City, where I did encounter
some people wholet me just be bluntif they had a machine
gun, they would shoot any companion animal. The people were just:
'I don't want them around. They're dirty. I hate them.'"
