Profile
Located in the chic Gramercy district, the Hotel Giraffe offers the best in 21st century deluxe amenities in a setting that pays more than a passing tribute to Manhattan’s Art Deco past. The lounge in the lobby has an easy elegance (baby grand included) that’s equally fit for hosting a black-tie soiree or spending a relaxed afternoon people watching through the panoramic window overlooking Park Ave. South. It’s here that guests can also get a snack at the hotel's well stocked 24-hour "refreshment center," that includes juices, coffee, cappuccino, fruit, cereals and baked goods. The guest rooms and suites, only seven to a floor, are lavishly outfitted with granite countertops in the bathroom and living quarters, quilted satin bed covers and velvet-upholstered chairs and ottomans, plus the latest technological amenities, such as high-speed Internet connections, two-line phones and WiFi. Deluxe rooms, which oddly enough are one step up from those designated Superior, have private balconies. For the true high rollers, the hotel offers the penthouse piano suite: a cavernous, 1,300-square-foot suite that opens onto the verdant rooftop garden.
ProsIndulgences big and small—from its teak-furnished penthouse garden to complimentary La Natura toiletries in the bathrooms.
Weddings
Among retro sofas and subtle glamour, couples can host their cocktail-party receptions (or even a post-wedding brunch) in the Piano Suite, this chic hotel’s 1,300-square-foot penthouse. The suite has 26-foot barrel-vaulted ceilings and views of Manhattan on two walls. By adding the garden to your wedding space, the hotel can accommodate 125 guests.
