Profile
This venue is closed.
When it opened in 1928 (and for decades afterwards), Bloom & Krup was something of an unfocused superstore for the home, offering not only appliances and fixtures, but also furniture, mattresses, and household odds and ends. Since moving to a new space in 2006, though, this place has gained serious focus. Now it concentrates solely on sleek, high-end appliances from brands like Viking, Delonghi, and Bosch. As you might expect, the double-door, sub-zero refrigerators and other larger pieces appeal to architects and designer types, but customized space-savers like a compact, German-made Miele oven—at a fair price, no less—find enthusiastic reception from consumers with tiny apartments, too. Have questions? Each brand stocked by the shop trains the store’s employees, so they’re experts on everything they sell.
