Heart Felt: Liora Manne's new Soho showroom.

The interiors-obsessed may remember Liora Manné for her wool-felt rugs—they were wildly popular in the nineties—made by hand using an incredibly tedious (and patented) technique. Now she’s moving upward from floor coverings, introducing a line of wool-felt furniture, bags, desk accessories, and even clothing, made with the same methods and on display at her new Soho shop (91 Grand Street; 212-965-0302). It’s all about pattern and color here—circles, stripes, swirls—and the prices are surprisingly reasonable, considering the level of work involved. Bags range from $110 for a small clutch to $350 for a weekender, and there are wallets in three sizes ($40 to $120), throw pillows for floor or sofa ($95 to $160), barstools ($249), square and round pouf-style ottomans ($350 to $398), even baseball caps ($25 to $30). A very modern sofa with open back ranges from $1,468 to $1,657 depending on material, and a barrel-style upholstered chair is $1,165 to $1,315; both are made in North Carolina. And of course, there are the rugs. Piles of them, in dimensions from two-by-three-feet to nine-by-twelve-feet (basic prices range from $200 to $5,000 with custom sizing, colors, and shapes available).
