DIVALICIOUS CHOCOLATE
FOUNTAIN RENTALS
359 Warren St., Cobble Hill, Brooklyn
718-522-7266; divalicious.biz
You want to be Willy Wonka for an evening? You can take the Jacques Torres route—devote years of your life to sourcing equipment and building a spotless factory in Soho. Or you can take a shortcut and call Divalicious. What you get, when you make that call, is an elaborate tabletop machine that gushes melted Guittard or Callebaut. Your party guests can then spend the evening skewering dried fruits, marshmallows, and the like, or grabbing potato chips or pretzels, and holding them under the warm tumbling tasty goodness. It is, in other words, the biggest chocolate fondue you have ever seen, unless you are Augustus Gloop. The most basic rental ($450 for three hours) is for a machine that serves 100 people, plus a uniformed attendant and the necessary pile of chocolate. (Larger fountains are available.) All but the most curmudgeonly of your guests will go home sugar-shocked, grinning, and unable to turn down one of your invitations ever again.
